Summary

In Chapter One, Claudia spends Thanksgiving with her family, but she cannot stop thinking about Sarah and Veracity, even though Komla threatened to call the police on her if she did not leave things alone. Coraline gets into a fight with their mother, who she claims loves Claudia best, and then tells Claudia that Lionel wants to break up with her because their family is too messed up. Claudia wonders about the dynamics of the sisterhood between Iris and Sarah.

In Chapter Two, Claudia spies on Lionel for Coraline and learns that he has been talking to an editor from the magazine Zinc Cabin about a secret story he is publishing.
