Summary

In Chapter Eight, Claudia leaves Rina’s apartment early in the morning and decides to go to Central Park where Jude normally runs in the morning. She ambushes him by saying “Nice job swapping Sarah Reaves’s Strobinex medication. Too bad you forgot something” (133), hoping to shock the truth out of him. However, Jude seems genuinely confused. Claudia explains that she is a friend of Sarah’s, and that Sarah is dead. Jude is shocked by this news. He explains that Sarah came to see him after she learned that he was married and blackmailed him for 100,000 dollars. He says that Sarah seemed stressed about her work as a “lawyer” while they were dating, and she was always asking him about his work at Apex Partners, which researched potential investments in tech companies, including matchmaking sites.
