Summary

The novel is narrated in first-person present by the protagonist, Claudia, who has been working for a month at a niche and secretive referrals-only technology company, Veracity, that specializes in verifying people that clients met on dating aps online and is owned by the mysterious and intelligent Komla Atsina. After being recruited through an online murder mystery game that Komla designed, Claudia quit the lucrative corporate job her brother had secured for her and transferred careers without telling any of her family or friends since her work was confidential. In Chapter One, a woman claiming to be Iris Lettriste comes into Veracity and asks them to verify a man she met on Soulmate two weeks prior.
