The Struggle, Chapters 3-4 Summary

Chapter Three of The Struggle begins with Elena and her friends Meredith and Bonnie setting out to search Fells Church for Stefan. They escape Elena's room through the window and make their way to Drowning Creek and Wickery Bridge, where they think Bonnie's vision is pointing them. There Elena scrambles under the bridge to search for Stefan, but cannot find him. Bonnie feels that the Wickery Bridge is not right and that they will not find Stefan here, an echo of her morbid premonition that there is 'Death' waiting at Wickery Bridge. When, suddenly, they hear the sound of an approaching car, all three are terrified and scramble to hide under the bridge.

Footsteps are heard passing over the bridge, and when the person stops and lowers themselves down the bank they see that it is Matt...
