The Awakening, Chapters 15-16 Summary
Chapter Fifteen of The Awakening, the penultimate chapter of this first book, sees Stefan after he has driven Elena home. He is furious as he drives out to the woods around Fells Church and casts around for his brother Damon.
Damon surprises him, fresh with the blood of the European History Teacher, Mr. Tanner, on him. Damon teases his brother, stating, just as he had so many years ago, that Elena is not for Stefan and that Elena is too strong and fiery for him. Stefan tries to fight his brother but Damon easily overpowers him, telling him that because Stefan has been feeding very little and rarely on humans that he is weak and does not have the advanced powers that he himself has. Damon demonstrates this by uprooting a tree then disappearing in a blur...
