The Awakening, Chapters 5-6 Summary

Chapter 5 begins from Stefan's point of view the same night that Meredith and Bonnie find Elena at her parents graveside in Fells Church Cemetery. Stefan had been watching the girls and is fighting his need for the hunt. As the girls get frightened and flee the Cemetery, Stefan gives in finding an old tramp under Wickery Bridge, and proceeds to bite him and drink his blood.

Back at the boarding house Stefan where is staying, he reminisces over finding out Katherine's vampire nature. She had first explained to him that, as a child, she had been very sick and it was only when a strange nobleman named Klaus had wooed her and swapped blood with her had she felt better.
