The Awakening, Chapters 3-4 Summary
In Chapter Three of The Awakening, the chapter starts with Stefan in his boarding house thinking over the day's events. He is worried that he gave too much away that day with himself correcting the European History Teacher, Mr Tanner, and consoles himself that he should not be surprised that attending school is bringing back his own memories of his previous schooling.
Stefan reminisces about his father, brother and Katherine. In the following flashback scene Stefan is seeing the arrival of his brother Damon from University. They are living in Renaissance-era Italy. His brother has just quit university in Florence, Italy and their father Giuseppe is furious with him, shouting that Damon will become a layabout and a rogue. Stefan tries to mollify the two, but really sides with his father as he is as different from...
