Chapter 18 Summary
When Lestat returns to New York, Dora, David and Armand are in his apartment above St. Patrick's Cathedral. After the death of Dora's father, Armand sees Lestat's soul is wounded. Lestat arrives with a bundle in his hands. Lestat's face also shows signs of injury and scratch marks. The next night, David asks Lestat to tell them of his journey to Hell. When Dora comes in, she implores Lestat to tell them his story, so he tells the story. He describes a journey to a Purgatory devised by Memnoch the Devil. The part of the story that sticks out to Armand is that Lestat drank Christ's blood on the road to Calvary. Armand begs Lestat to allow him to drink his blood so he can taste the blood of Christ.
