Summary

In Chapter 13, when Lu Shing’s teacher is called back to New York, Lu Shing tells the Miniturn family he plans to go back to Shanghai in about a week. Lucia goes to his room and lies in bed with him. She tells him she’s not a virgin. They have sex. She goes back the following three nights. When she asks on the third night if he will miss her and feels his tears, she decides she will go back to China with him. During a boat outing to see birds, Lu Shing tells her that he is already betrothed and will be married when he returns to China. During the same trip, Lu Shing breaks his ankle, delaying his trip back to China.
