Summary

There was once a time when humans walked on all fours like all other animals. When they used their arms and legs like all other "four-limbed creatures," they could run even faster "than hares, leopards or rhinos" (3, 5). In fact, the human body was configured in a different way that allowed for this increased speed and agility. Shoulder and hip joints were the same as elbow, knee, wrist, and ankle joints. Hands and feet even appeared the same. "The thumb was close to the other fingers, the same as the big toe" (6).

During this time, the legs and feet had a better relationship with one another, thinking of "each other as cousins" (6). They shared similar duties and responsibilities in carrying the body.
