The Master Bedroom
The master bedroom is where Mia and Isabelle where conceived. It is where Josh and Julie had described their hopes and dreams for their future. It is where they had their most intimate conversations. It is where Julie died. Lastly, it is where Joshua wrote the Epilogue.
Bangladesh
To Julie, Bangladesh was "filled with ugliness and beauty, suffering and joy, poverty and generosity" (169). It represents strength in spite of adversity. It reminds her of her cancer experience. She thinks she has a sign when she is walking to a cancer appointment, and a woman from Bangladesh stops her to ask for directions to the same hospital.
Julie and Joshua's Apartment
