Summary
Chapter 23 begins the section titled, “2015.” Julie relates how she wants to be genuine. On Christmas, she was enraged at the gods for her cancer. She was depressed for two weeks. But eventually, she decided to continue fighting. She desired to teach her girls to always do their best in every endeavor.
In Chapter 24, Julie describes the time when she was 28 and her mom confided in her about her grandmother’s attempt to have her killed. She recognized that her mom was a victim. She was a fearful person afraid to confront her mother-in-law. Previously, the narrator had believed that her grandmother loved her. But now she hated her.
