Summary

In Chapter 25, Kiana goes home after school and finds her stepmother waiting for her. She tells Kiana the school called with science test results for a student that does not attend their school and asks why she thought she could get away with something so outrageous. Kiana says no one cares about her and this is not her real home. The stepmother seems ready to cry, but instead she just says Kiana is family. She says she is going to the school to register her. Kiana takes a chance and tells the whole story about the Unteachables and Mr. Kermit. After listening, the stepmother says she is going to place Kiana in Mr. Kermit’s class so she can stay with her friends.
