1945-1946
Rachel, 1945
Even though they take a lot of teasing about their accents and where they hail from, Rachel and Tommie are having a great time as army nurses. Tommie is engaged but she has lots of boyfriends. Rachel has a steady boyfriend in Manila named Fred Sullivan who is from a wealthy family in New Orleans. Tommie thinks Fred is a snob and tells Rachel that she thinks she is sweet on Dillon. Rachel admits she cares for Dillon and misses him. Although the girls have fun, they also work hard, putting in twelve hour shifts.
