Berlin is the capital of Germany and was the Headquarters for the Nazi regime. In this novel, it is the location for many of the meetings for Vogel and his superiors, and the place Anna considers home.

MI5

MI5 is the name designation for British Intelligence. In the novel, it is where Vicary, Boothby, and Dalton are employed and their German counterpart is Abwehr.

Abwehr

Abwehr is the name designation for Nazi Intelligence. At the time of the novel, Abwehr is controlled by Canaris, but undermined by the distrust of Hitler and the competition from Schellenberger. Kurt Vogel is an unwitting pawn in the power struggle for Abwehr.

London

London is the capital of England, and serves as Headquarters for MI5. It is the operating arena for Anna.
