Summary

As soon as Olive gets back to her apartment she is filled with joy. She did not realize just how much she had missed being home until she returned. She remarks, “I am a homebody, through and through, and there’s nothing like being home” (285). Her feeling of happiness fades quickly as she soon realizes there is nothing in her apartment to eat. Just as she starts to get upset that she didn’t go over to Ethan’s, her doorbell rings and Olive see’s Ethan standing outside her apartment holding take out. Olive thinks, "Something inside me uncoils because I was happy to be home, but now I'm giddy. I feel more myself with him than without, and that happened so fast, it's dizzying" (287). The two share the food in Olive's kitchen and banter about how they used to hate each other...
