Summary

Once on the boat, Ethan and Olive inevitably run into Billy and Sophie again. Olive attempts to make the situation less awkward and asks Billy and Sophie how they met. Billy tells Olive that he met Sophia at a grocery store in St. Paul where he is an assistant manager. Then Sophie turns to Ethan and tells him that Olive looks like Dane’s girlfriend. Olive’s stomach drops but Ethan just confirms that they are twins. Sophie continues to press, “Isn’t that sort of weird?” and internally Olive screams, “I want to shout YES—VERY—ALL OF THIS IS VERY WEIRD, but manage to clamp my mouth to y straw and drain about half of my drink” (141). Ethan replies to Sophie, “Not really” (141).
