Summary

Lavinia, Hazel, Apollo, and Meg picnic over the garden of Faunas where they can see the entire city. Hazel is upset that Frank tried to volunteer, implying that he has been making more brash decisions lately. Meg asks about Hazel's power, and she explains that she can summon rare materials, but used to do so by accident when she was nervous. If anyone takes the materials she makes, they are cursed. They then agree to rest and meet and sundown.

Apollo then tells the reader what happened to the Cumaean Sibyl. She gave everything up to be one of his Oracles and Apollo genuinely loved her.
