Summary

In “Bullet Number Two,” Hawley was 25. On his way to Arizona to help Jove rob a casino, Hawley checked in at a motel. A Navajo Indian worked the counter while another Indian and a man with freckles who made Hawley nervous were playing cards in the lobby. He carried the bag that contained his guns as well as the jar of black licorice in which he hid his money to the room. The digital clock on the bedside table was stuck at 4:16 a.m.
