Summary
A man named Steve comes to the cafe in Chapter 44. He has some sugar pies and thinks they are delicious. He tells Chap that he has no clue how he got there or how to get out of the area. Chap draws him a map before Steve leaves so that he can find the highway again. After Steve leaves, Chap realizes that Steve has left his cell phone on the table but he knows that Steve will eventually return for it. Chap then goes to pour his mother another cup of coffee and he thinks of his father. He knows that his mother misses his dad, who was killed in an accident shortly after Chap is born.
