Summary

In “Number Four, The Avenue (29 June 1976)”, a police officer visits for a routine inquiry. Grace’s mother and father are nervous answering the most basic question, but Grace chimes in that she last saw Mrs. Creasy Saturday morning. This surprises everyone, as Grace reveals Mrs. Creasy came to the house to borrow the telephone to call for a taxi. However, Grace did not let her in and recalls that she looked like she was in pain. Mr. Creasy later visits and tries to get more information, but Grace only recalls the short encounter. Grace’s father, Derek, suggests she may have travelled back to Tamworth, her hometown.

On the way to school, Grace and Tilly discuss the police officer visit, how someone could be labeled a “Missing Person,” and starting their search for Mrs. Creasy...
