Summary

In Chapter 25, a groggy Apollo gathers Meg’s things, such as her sword rings, and vows to find her. Pete explains to Apollo that the nest of the Myrmekes is the only entrance to the Grove of Dodona. He reveals the nest is located half-a-mile to the north. Pete also reveals that he and Paulie saw three heavily-armed men seeking the Grove some time before, and all three men spoke Latin. Apollo knows it must be the Beast and the other two members of the Triumvirate. Pete takes Apollo’s oath that he will save Meg. As Apollo travels, he thinks about his love for Daphne and how Eros ensured she would never love Apollo. Apollo collapses. He hears Daphne whisper to him, telling him to press on. When he wakes up, he sees Rhea herself with a lion before him.
