Dublin Castle is where the story begins and ends. It is where the murder squad is stationed and, therefore, is it where most of the action and thinking happens. Another important detail about this setting is that it is central to Dublin, where the novel takes place. Although never said outright, this novel does emphasize its Irish roots through its dialect and feel.
