Summary

In Chapter One, Meg and Apollo are on a train to Manhattan when a two-headed snake called an amphisbaena boards. Apollo is immediately nervous, as he and his master Meg have been chased by numerous monsters over the last week. He does not know how they are going to stop their archenemies Nero - Meg’s stepfather- and Python who guards the Oracle of Delphi. Apollo knows he can only become a god again if he wins. The snake then stares at him and Apollo decides to walk past it to see what will happen. The snake grabs Apollo and tells him a riddle about the Son of Hades before he returns to normal and panics about missing his stop.
