Westover Hall
The novel begins at this military school and serves as an introduction to many of the new characters, as well as setting up the basis of the quest. Percy is introduced to the di Angelo siblings at the school, and it is also where he learns about the General and where Annabeth gets captured. The militaristic nature of the school is a good representation of the way that the Hunters act in comparison to the much more laid back Camp Half-Blood.
Camp Half-Blood
As always, Camp Half-Blood serves as a home for Percy and the other campers. The welcoming and homely nature of the camp is shown by how easily Nico gets accepted, even if he is initially treated as “the new kid”.
