Summary
Percy ends up running right into Thalia. The group is surprised and angered to see him. Zoe insists that he should leave, but their argument is interrupted by the appearance of a metallic lion. The group springs into action. Grover uses a song of confusion to distract the mortals, while the others try to bring the creature down. None of their weapons can penetrate the metallic hide though. Percy spots a vulnerability, the inside of the lion’s mouth. He rushes to the gift shop and grabs a bunch of food, using it to distract the lion and get its mouth to remain open. The group brings the creature down, and Zoe accepts Percy as part of the quest, even letting him take the metallic hide of the creature.
