Father Matthew Mackie

Father Matthew Mackie is a former priest and doctor. He is one of the prime suspects in Ian’s murder. Father Mackie worked at the convent where Coopers Chase is now located as a priest, but he was not dedicated to his vows. He fell in love with a nun, Maggie. Maggie hanged herself after it was discovered that she was pregnant. Father Mackie made a deal with the abbess that he would leave the convent and all records of him ever having worked there could be destroyed as long as she allowed Maggie to be buried in the cemetery with the other nuns.
