Summary
In Chapter 108, Elizabeth, Ron, Ibrahim, and Joyce walk to Penny’s room together where John, the man Karen recognized, is sitting next to Penny’s bed.
John tells the members of the murder club that he has been waiting for them. He tells Elizabeth first the bones belong to a man he gave a lethal dose of fentanyl because he was lonely and did not want to live without his wife. He explains he killed Ian because he could not take the chance that the body would be found.
Elizabeth asks John why he would admit to killing someone in front of Penny if there was even the smallest chance that Penny could hear him. She says she does not think he would have done that to Penny. Elizabeth also tells him she does not think he killed Ian just to save himself...
