Snickers Bars

The Snickers bars hidden at the couple's house are symbolic of distrust. Although the husband and wife both insist that their marriage is ideal, the husband hides the bars from the wife so she does not know he is breaking the diet. Meanwhile, the wife eats and replaces the bars every week. The couple's behavior around the bars, therefore, reveals the lack of trust and grace in their marriage.

Pregnancy Test

The wife's pregnancy test is symbolic of power and control. Although the wife wants to believe that she has control over herself in the marriage, she has let the husband convince her to procreate in spite of her disinterest in doing so. The test therefore reveals to Temi that the wife is letting the husband control her body.
