House

The majority of the novel takes place in the husband and wife's house. Roughly a year after they married, they purchased this home together. The house is expansive and decadent, and thus a show of the husband's wealth and power. Because the husband works so much and the wife does not work at all, she spends the majority of her time alone at the house.

On the day that the wife and Temi were meant to leave on their holiday together, Temi shows up at the house to spend time with the wife. Although Temi and the wife leave and come back from the house at times during the afternoon, they predominantly spend the day together in this location. They drink and gossip, talk to their sister-in-law, try on clothes, look through photo albums, and later have dinner with the husband.
