Summary
The wife and Temi dig through the kitchen for snacks. Because the wife and her husband “have recently started a keto diet,” they have few options (33). They are not supposed to drink on the diet either. The wife will hide the wine bottle and wash the glasses. Temi finds the husband’s secret Snickers bars. The wife eats and replaces them every week.
Temi comments on things she finds in the cabinets, saying the wife’s “Mr.” and “Mrs.” glasses remind her of the wife’s parents (34). Although the wife’s and Temi’s parents are similar, Temi “had an opportunity to do life on her own terms,” because she has two older brothers instead of two older sisters (34).
