Summary
In Chapter 29, The Earth-Trisolaris Movement, it is amazing to Ye Wenjie how many people have truly given up on their own kind. Most are from the upper classes, or work in elite fields. Soon, the ETM splits into two movements – the Adventists, who have no hope in humanity; and the Redemptionists, who believe humanity can be changed. Still, belief in the supremacy of the Trisolarian race is spread through the video game ETM develops. A third faction later breaks out, calling themselves Survivors, who intend to live better whatever happens with the alien invasion that is coming in several centuries.
In Chapter 30, Two Protons, the novel returns to the present as Ye Wenjie is interrogated further. She is unable to speak to the messages received from the Trisolarans by the Adventists since the Adventists have kept the messages secret. The interrogator notes that...
