Summary

In chapter three, Clare searched the film festival for Richard. She searched every room and every face, to no avail. Clare finally watched the film she came to Havana with the intention of watching, Revolcucion Zombi. Clare experienced the "eels" Yuniel Mata warned her about, causing her to leave the theater and regain her composure. She returned to the theater and watched the rest of the movie from the doorway. After she watched the film, Clare inquired about Richard at the information desk. The woman working had not seen anyone matching his description. Clare attributes it to the communication barrier and lost nuances in her search. She realized that if she went too deeply into the story about her missing husband, the police would be called and she would have more attention drawn to her than she wanted.
