Summary
In Chapter Three, we are introduced to Eve, the wife of the corrupt businessman Richard Bennett, who narrates the next two chapters of the novel. Eve is a chef, trained at a famous culinary school, and is interviewing to be the next cook at Rosalind. She meets with the manager, Eric, who forces other menial tasks on her, including the job of housekeeper. Rosalind, through Eve’s eyes, is very small, somewhat friendly, but also a daunting place to her; it is new and she has not worked in a long time.
