Summary
In “Face to Face” Suzy spent her 45-minute sessions each week with Dr. Legs in silence. She has realized how much people miss when they are talking all the time. They don’t hear the sounds of their lives or pick up on other people’s signals. It was in her fourth session that Dr. Legs explained to Suzy that she thought people had developed language because they needed to be understood. She encouraged Suzy to say what was on her mind, but to do it face-to-face and not through email or texting.
