Summary
In Chapter 6, the narrator wants readers to write down what they identify as the thing about them. When the action begins, Georgie is trying to write a poem for his parents because he decides that that is all they are going to get since they are being dumb enough to have another child. He is having problems though because all he can think about is the coming of the baby. He measures himself in a secret place that his parents do not know about and realizes that he has not grown since August. He thinks that the baby is already gaining on him in terms of height, throws away the paper he had been writing on and decides that his parents are getting cookies.
It is Christmas Eve in Chapter 7. The cookies Georgie baked for his parents at Andy’s house are hidden...
