By the Knot of the Waters Summary
By the following day, they have reached a scared area of the Tree People. Darrow is showing signs of weakening and numbness in his hands and feet. The group starts to argue over whether they should go through the sacred grounds or around it. As the group enters the cave, the Veiled Lands, Calwyn feels a tingling sensation in her fingers and toes, and the hair stands up on the back of her neck.
The group walks for hours. One of the areas of the cave is a wall covered with ruby. Calwyn can't help but wonder if the ring Darrow normally wears is cut from the same stone.
