The Red City Summary

While Calwyn and her friends were making their journey to Antaris, Darrow and his friends were traveling around looking for Samis. When the return to Gellan, the Red City, they find it is plagued with sickness affecting chanters and that there is a famine. After speaking to a Gellanese resident, Darrow finds out that four nights ago, Samis had come and gone from the city.

The resident also tells Darrow that she found Samis's best friend, Tragg, murdered in his room. The lady says she heard them arguing before Samis left about the sickness and a wheel. Suddenly, guards emerge, encircle Darrow and arrest him, accusing him of having the sickness, as he is a ironchanter. As they haul Darrow off to the Lazar-House, which is where the sick are detained, a Gellanese woman, Matifa, invites Tonno and Halasaa...
