Summary
Chapter 59. Min begins asking questions about why she was in Yodok. This causes Chung-Cha to think of her own family. She tells Min about her parents, how they were professors who spoke out against the government. A short time later, government officials come for Chung-Cha. She leaves Min with her landlord.
Chapter 60. Chung-Cha meets with several officials about the upcoming assassination. They tell her about the Americans who took Pak’s children from Bukchang, which has spurred them to move up the time frame of the assassination. One of the government people at the meeting is Rim Yun, the woman who encouraged Chung-Cha to kill her parents all those years ago. Chung-Cha dislikes her and does not like that she is involved in the planning. However, she can do nothing about it. When Chung-Cha learns that she will be leaving in a week...
