Part 1, The Tale of the Body Thief: Chapters 10-13 Summary
Chapter 10. Lestat arrives at James' home the morning of the body exchange. Lestat insists on learning more about the man whose body James now has. This man, a mechanic, was accused of killing his family after becoming high on a drug he was selling on the streets. The man, depressed and in shock after his experiences, was lured out of his body by James. When the man's soul moved into James' dying body, James killed him. James assures Lestat that the original soul for his mortal body will never come back. Lestat finally agrees to the exchange. They exchange passports and id. James gives Lestat keys to a car.
