Maple Run

Maple Run is the name of the house in Clanton, Mississippi, where Ray and Forrest Atlee grew up. Ray and Forrest are summoned to this house by their father to discuss his estate, but Ray arrives first to find his father dead. He learns later that Forrest had stayed with their father at Maple Run the days before he died. During his father’s last days, Forrest set up the summons, had his father create a new will, and arranged for Ray to find the money in their father’s storage cabinets.

The plot comes to a climax one night when Ray is back at Maple Run with the money he found there while his father’s will is being probated. A brick is thrown through a window with a note telling Ray to leave the money where he found it and get out of the house...
