Summary
In Chapter 23, back in Clanton, Ray managed to get a tour of casino security with security officers from Canyon Casinos. Ray asked a variety of questions about dealer cheating and card counting. As a favor, Ray asked if Judge Atlee was on a watch list because he was a consistent winner. The security officers said they had never heard of him.
In Chapter 24, Forrest was waiting for Ray on the porch of Maple Run when Ray returned from his morning run. Forrest begged Ray to take him to Alcorn Village, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. Even though Ray had seen Forrest’s tears before, Ray was still moved and agreed to send Forrest to the center. He learned the center cost $300 each day.
