Summary
In Chapter 17, Ray received a package of letters and cards from Harry Rex. They were from people whose lives had been touched by the Judge’s fairness and his charity. Ray continued to wonder how the Judge had died with $3.1 million in his house when he was so generous.
Among the letters and cards was an anonymous note that warned Ray it would be a mistake to spend the money. It also noted that the IRS was only a phone call away. Outside on his balcony, Ray wondered of each person who walked by if he knew about the money.
