Summary
In Chapter 7, Reverend Silas Palmer arrived and told Ray that the Judge had talked to him about his funeral arrangements. Among these arrangements, the Judge wanted a wake in the house. Ray refused because he wanted to look for more money. He told the reverend that it was because of the memories of his mother’s wake that he would not allow one to be hosted there for his father.
After Reverend Palmer left, Forrest reappeared. He had a glass of bourbon. Forrest told his brother he wanted to talk about their father’s money. As Forrest criticized their father for not leaving them any money, Ray thought about how his father had spent more than $90,000 in the course of his lifetime trying to get Forrest off drugs.
