Summary
Part 2, “1951 (Miranda Shuyler),” began with Miranda’s arrival at the harbor to deliver Joseph another of Isobel’s notes in Chapter 1. He convinced her to join him and his father on their lobster boat for the morning. In Chapter 2, Miranda helped Joseph and Vargas with their traps. Joseph bragged that his father used to transport illegal liquor and delivered Joseph without help. They ate the packed sandwiches in Chapter 3, and Joseph asked to take a swim with his father rested. While in the water, hidden by the boat, Joseph kissed Miranda. She noticed the difference between his kiss and Clay’s kiss. Miranda worried what Isobel would think in Chapter 4.
