Summary

Chapter 8 began with Isobel escorting Miranda down the stairs to the moon landing gathering. Isobel wandered off and Miranda took a walk on the grounds. A feeling pulled her to a specific location where she found Livy, Clay’s wife, having sex with Hugh. Miranda confronted Hugh in Chapter 9, and he felt he had made a mistake. Miranda drove Clay home, and he directed her to the guesthouse where he had been living. He persuaded Miranda to watch the astronauts on television and made a strong drink for them both. He explained his marriage had fallen apart when Livy continued cheating. He struggled with change and his new reality. He asked Miranda to stay and kissed her.
