Summary

The novel continues with Eli debating how to get Gabe’s DNA with no one knowing. He knows it would be easier to tell the truth, but he is terrified of losing his family’s respect. When Sarah encourages him to FaceTime Rosa, Eli recognizes her, but she does not answer any of his personal calls. Weeks go by as Eli’s thoughts spiral out of control. In June, he tells Ari about Jane, but claims he and Annette had already broken up.
