Summary

In the next chapter, Sarah tells Marni that Eli must be having an affair, remembering how attentive and loving he used to be. While they used to have adventurous role-play dates at nearby hotels, now Sarah cannot remember the last time they were intimate. For the early part of their marriage, Sarah tried to change his bad habits until she realized that it was better to accept his quirks rather than worry about the small things. Meanwhile, many of Dexter's classmates experienced divorce and Sarah felt somewhat smug about her successful marriage, while those who joked about her settling were rushing to get engaged. Sarah feels that continuing one’s marriage is a choice and always reminds herself that she did the right thing.
