Chapter 13, Æsahætter Summary

The witches work a spell to heal Will's wounds and prepare a medicine. Serafina splits open a tree sapling and then heals it with the potion. She captures a rabbit, cuts it open, and also heals the wound cut with the knife. Will sleeps under a blanket of leaves, next to Lyra, and in the morning he looks to Serafina's face for some sign that the medicine is working, but he cannot tell what she thinks.

The witches, Lyra and Will continue on their trip to find Will's father. It is hard going for Will who is still weak from all he has been through. Pan tries to convince Lyra to ask the alethiometer about Will's father, but Lyra says they have to wait.
