Chapter 7, The Rolls-Royce Summary

Lyra talks to some children in Cittàgazze and they explain about the Specters. The children say that there is no one in the Torre degli Angeli, but Lyra can tell they are lying.

While Will sleeps, Lyra returns to his world to talk to Dr. Malone again. She stops off at the Tower, but can only go in short ways before fear drives her and Pan back out again. Once in Oxford, she goes to see Dr. Malone. Something is wrong. Dr. Malone has visitors, a man and a woman who say they are inspectors. Lyra lies at first while they question her, but they trick her into admitting she knows Will. Lyra escapes with the help of Dr. Malone who manages to get in the way as the tall man with the white eyebrows tries to catch...
